Theresa Alice by Jenny Ledel, a staged reading
May 2nd & May 3rd at 8:00 PM. For her first full-length play, local actress and playwright Jenny Ledel takes a woman plagued by poor life choices and plunges her into a fairytale “wonderland” populated by a brutish King Henry VIII, a cross-dressing gossip, a pop-singing Cleopatra, and a monstrous hawk named Brian. Heads will roll, blood will spill, and shoes will glow as our heroine searches for a way back home. Directed by Michael Federico, with sound & projection design by Shawn Magill and movement by Anastasia Munoz, this staged reading marks a major step in the development phase of this new work. Features Drew Wall, Danielle Pickard, Ian Ferguson, Seth Magill, Whitney Holitik, & Dana Jensen.

Rave Reviews for On The Eve!
On the Eve — a new musical by Michael Federico and Home by Hovercraft’s Seth Magill and Shawn Magill — premiered this fall at the Margot Jones Theater in the Magnolia Lounge in Dallas’ historic Fair Park. Produced by Spacegrove Productions, LLC in association with Nouveau 47 Theatre, On the Eve completed a two-week run November 30 through December 15, 2012, to sold out audiences and rave reviews from audiences and critics.
On The Eve – What the audiences said!

“The musical was amazing, I wish I had a time machine so that I could revisit the moment again and again.”
“If you want to experience the genesis and birth of something really amazing, go see this show. To me it is everything live theater should be- surprising, beautiful, passionate, interesting, full myth and wonder; creating another time and place. It’s messy, rough and unpolished, and unmistakably watchable brilliant theater. Go now see art in development.”
“Ok. Well that was, what’s the word? Oh yeah. Inspirational. And too too cool. Thanks for a spellbinding evening of rockin entertainment. So so so. I mean woah…”
“Thank you- cast and crew for making a show so transcendent. The grief that has burdened my heart since yesterday has not been lifted but it has been given a context. I have hope for the human race after all. We have been unable to stop talking about it in the hours since we walked, awestruck, out of the theater.”
“If you didn’t see this you really missed out. I felt so uplifted, the ending felt more like a new begining.”
“What an absolutely amazing show! Thank you for a magical experience; I was in heaven.”
On The Eve – What the critics said!
D Magazine – The Best Theater of 2012 – Top 10 Productions
“Nouveau 47 and Spacegrove Productions’ gave us a new musical that’s joyful, original, engaging, restorative; with a cast, crew, and creators who so clearly delight in testing the boundless limits of the stage.” — Liz Johnstone
“As busy as we are, it is not often that critics get a chance to see a play more than once, especially ones that we are not reviewing. When I heard the unbelievable buzz about this show, I had to check it out. I was blown away to the point that I saw this musical extravaganza of wit, whimsy, and whirlwind performances twice.” — M. Lance Lusk
Dallas Observer – The Year in Dallas Theater 2012
“It feels as if Dallas theater is on the cusp of a new era of greatness, and what better evidence than the last show of the year, the time-travel musical On the Eve? Written by Kitchen Dog actor Michael Federico and Home by Hovercraft band members Shawn and Seth Magill (who also played time-challenged hero “Chase Spacegrove”), the show directed and designed by Jeffrey Schmidt filled tiny Magnolia Lounge with really good rock music, Irish step-dancing, eye-popping bits of stage magic and stirring performances. The too-short 10-performance run left standing-room-only audiences begging for encores. If any show needs a repeat in 2013, it’s this one.” - Elaine Liner
